CNN reports that the Pentagon, after an extremely long review of Don't Ask Don't Tell, is set to certify that ending DADT won't cause the sky to fall or the sun to burn out. The formal announcement is expected to be made later today, and a 60-day waiting period begins before our lesbian and gay soldiers are given (some) of the respect they deserve. [CNN]
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison voted no to J. Paul Oetken's (now the first openly gay federal judge) confirmation for a federal judge position, doesn't think that DADT should be discontinued now, and Texas' other fine Senator John Cornyn didn't even bother showing up to Wednesday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the Respect for Marriage Act. Texas' Senators: improvement needed.
State Representative Senfornia Thompson is pretty awesome, and here's an article talking about just how powerful she is in Texas.
