President Obama endorsed the Respect for Marriage Act, a bill which would repeal DOMA and was the subject of Senate hearings yesterday. Obama has also recently nominated not one, but four, openly gay men to federal judge positions, with one already being confirmed. What were the headlines while this was happening? Well, there wasn't much about DOMA or the judges. Michelle Bachmann's headaches, however, were huge newsmakers. Makes sense, right? ...Right? [Dallas Morning News]
I just mentioned it above, but, in case you didn't know, President Obama has nominated four - count 'em, four! - openly gay judicial candidates. That's four more than ever before! [Politico]
Times are a-changin' across the country and the momentum is gathering behind the LGBT movement! So says The Atlantic and the kids interviewed by the New York Times, at least.
